Sarajevo Innovations Festival (SIFI) is an expanding exhibition of student works in the fields of electrical engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering, and other related areas. The festival was established in 2016 by the Association of Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo (STELEKS) and has since attracted an increasing number of students and experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The goal of SIFI is to promote students’ innovativeness and creativity, as well as to encourage them to write papers. In addition to the competition part, the festival also offers educational content in the form of lectures and workshops. In this way, SIFI aims to develop into a kind of trade fair for technology and science, which will benefit both students and companies that decide to be part of this project.
The evaluation of scientific papers is done by a team of reviewers, distinguished professors, and experts in the field of technology and engineering. The papers are assessed based on criteria such as applicability, innovativeness, compliance with IEEE format, and presentation. Based on these assessments, a decision is made on which papers will be presented at the exhibition. The best papers receive valuable cash awards.
In addition to cash prizes, a special “dr. Branislava Peruničić” award will be given to the highest-rated student paper by all participants. Furthermore, all papers will be published in a conference proceedings, which will be accessible to all participants of the exhibition.

SIFI 2023 will take place on October 21st this year, and submissions for papers are already open and will last until October 1st. All interested students can submit their papers through the festival's website.
